I'm writing to send a belated thank you to Ken, yourself, Andrew, Mark and the team who designed and fitted our brand new kitchen and utility room this summer.

I think you gathered from our last phone conversation that Ronnie and I were both thrilled with the end result, and that all our friends who had seen it were equally impressed.

However, I've now had just over a month to live with it and work in it, and have to say that not only does it look brilliant, but it is extremely efficient and functional to use. It also seems much easier to do chores like unloading the dishwasher and putting the contents away.

I also have heaps more space to store my crockery etc in the kitchen - please tell Ken that I have managed to store all my good china in the kitchen now. This means I have an uncluttered dining room dresser with space to spread my crystal glasses and decanters inside.

We have now finished painting so are just on the final stages of finding the odd picture for the wall. (In case anyone else goes for the same combination of wood and coloured granite, we chose a Crown paint called Spice Rack, which comes up a warm, almost terracotta pink shade, and brings out the granite colour well, we think).

By now, I'm so used to showing people round the new layout; I feel I could take a job as a guide in a listed building! Without exception though, everyone is completely taken aback with the exceptional quality of the fittings, and also with the efficient design of the units into the space with all its nooks and crannies. As I said to you on the phone, that includes the professionals who fit the kitchens themselves.
